Here’s a delicious and simple Tuna Udon Noodle Stir-Fry recipe — perfect for a quick, flavour-packed meal.
Ingredients
- 1 can of tuna in water (drained)
- 200g udon noodles
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium carrot, julienned
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp Sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp tahini
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of sugar
- Cooking oil (vegetable or sesame)
Instructions:
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Cook the udon noodles according to package instructions. Drain, rinse under cold water to stop the cooking, and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oyster sauce, Sriracha, tahini, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Stir until smooth.
- In a large pan or wok, heat a bit of oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until it starts to soften.
Add the garlic and carrot, and stir-fry for another 2 minutes. Add the chopped tomato and cook until slightly broken down and saucy, about 2–3 more minutes. - Add the drained tuna and stir it in gently so it breaks up but doesn’t turn into mush.
- Add the cooked udon to the pan. Pour the sauce over everything and toss well to coat. Stir-fry for another 2–3 minutes until everything is heated through and evenly mixed.
- Give it a taste — add more soy sauce or a splash of water if needed. Want more heat? A drizzle of extra Sriracha won’t hurt.
- Serve hot, with maybe a sprinkle of sesame seeds or chopped spring onion if you’ve got some lying around.
Enjoy your spicy, creamy, umami-packed tuna udon — comfort food with a kick!
